Anne Luz has been working with parts of shattered, old, ivory piano.

Conflicted by the bloody origins the material entails, she has used the instrument’s pieces to honor and resignify this piano and elephants killed for their tusks.

The black ebony key represents the path erythrocytes use to take oxygen through the organism.

These brooches represent our mutual interdependence. We need each other in order to move forward and set aside selfishness and individuality.

A reminder that as our body's organs, we cannot survive without the veins that interconnect us.
