Pursuing her exploration of systems theory, Julie focused her attention on homeostasis, a state of dynamic equilibrium between interdependent elements despite external conditions, especially as maintained by physiological processes.

The cardiovascular system plays an important role in maintaining homeostasis by circulating blood which absorb, distribute, and transports substances needed to maintain balance in the human organism.

Julie evokes the essential components of the cardiovascular system in her creations as such: Heart, a brooch symbolising the heart pumping blood through the body. Erythrocytes, earrings depicting red blood cells traveling in blood vessels. Systemic Circulation, a necklace representing the part of the cardiovascular system which carries blood to and from the heart and tissues of the body.
