The 500-year x 28h lens is an intriguing fusion of past and present. Based on the classic magnifying glass from the era of printed maps, it stands out for its contemporary reinterpretation. In the past, magnifying glasses were essential for finding directions and deciphering tiny letters when modern devices didn’t exist.
However, this lens sets itself apart from conventional ones. Crafted from aluminum and PET bottles, it incorporates the time it takes for nature to degrade these materials and the effort invested in its production, in addition to the relationship we had with maps in that context, revealing an intrinsic connection between humans and nature.
