Marilyn Koch entertains the notion that we are not entirely (if at all) autonomous creatures. Through playful, absurd, and beautiful pieces of jewelry, she uses the body as a platform to literally fragment our human form so that we can recognize and appreciate our own physicality.
Regardless of how immutable we are to outside influence, Koch finds solace in simply knowing that we have been gifted a body at birth, and we borrow it until death. That is miraculous all on its own.
