Taking classical Greek literature as a reference, intrigued by the figures of the terrible sisters Gorgons: Medusa, Euriale and Esteno. They appear in the writings of Homer and the poems of Ovid, fearsome creatures that petrify the beholder and at the same time symbols of protection that were used in ancient times to defend the wearer. Irene is interested in this duality between the feeling of paralysis and at the same time of protection. The artist thinks of the image of a fishbowl that traps you and at the same time protects you.
