One of the things that's got me thinking about this pandemic is the responsibility of the individual. Each one of us is a vehicle to help contain or spread the virus. In my piece I took an icon of death, the skull, pixelated like an invader and vacuum sealed it into plastic. Not to destroy it, but to neutralize it, to confine it somehow. Yet, at the same time, to keep it in plain sight inside this transparent shield/mask. Because this is an invisible threat, the consciousness of our own mortality can be our best protection, right?
