Piece created for Challenge 2019 Jewelry and Anatomy
Materials porcelain, oxidized metal, yarn
With her current jewelry project Arina Antonova invites us on an aesthetic journey deep inside the human body, celebrating it as a complex of multicellular organisms. Like anatomist using the method of dissection, she drives us inside ourselves to explore and admire hidden structural organization. Inspired by the beauty of each single cell, tissue and organ she creates shapes, pulls apart and stitches together, places in a special container to keep all safe and secure.
Her work is more about perfect imperfection and texture fetishism. Arina believes that tactile sense connects us with a making process and creates new memories.
