Lately Bego Fuente has been interested in the concept of fluidity and the way we approach life. Always fascinated by materials and experimentation, she works in a very intuitive manner, always allowing for her emotions to come out through her hands.
In this latest series she explores the opposites by means of using a very soft and ductile material like the foam she hand shapes. The resulting sinuous shapes and smooth textures relate to the fluidity and the need of adaptation. On the contrary, the jesmonite and the resin give the piece a solid, compact, rigid aspect that captures the settled certainties. There is a dialogue between opposites, no clear answers, just open questions.
