This work is inspired from renaissance styled frames that the artist documented during her travels to Italy. During these travels Vivienne Varay experienced a shift in herself that would inspire future work and processes. These forms are created from medical grade steel wire and have been covered in twisted gold plated pins. The artist wanted to maintain a moment of intimacy by creating a pair of brooches in abstracted and geometric shapes. These brooches are meant to be worn over the heart.
