This piece is imbued with the spirit of flight. All around, inanimate objects and living creatures alike take up residence in the sky. Drawing from this notion, this work abstracts and transforms a vintage balsa glider into something strangely familiar and altogether new. Mimicking the delicate nature of a butterfly and harnessing a sense of childhood wonder and whimsy, this fragile balsa model takes on a precarious function as jewelry.
