This brooch is inspired by the story of a coin that Militar Government in Chile produced from 1973 until 1990. The image of the “angel of freedom” was used in the ten peso currency to promote dictatorship as a liberator from the comunism regime. Some craft people used to join the chain on the coins as a subversive action, against Pinochet's dictatorship. Some of those people were persecuted and killed for betrayal of the country by militar forces.
